Fees
Fees are based on rates at or below the recommended fee schedule of the British Columbia Psychological Association.
$220 for a 60 minute individual session.
$220 for 60 minute clinical consulting session.
Payment for services can be made by cash, cheque, e-transfer or credit card. Unless prior arrangements are made, payment is requested at the end of each appointment.
Although MSP does not cover psychological treatment, some individuals have funding for psychological services through their extended health care benefits. Policies should be consulted directly, as they vary regarding the amount of coverage provided
What to expect in your first session
The purpose of the initial session is for both client and therapist to see if they would be comfortable working together.
The client is free to say as little or as much as desired about whatever motivated them to come for therapy.
If the therapist and the client contract to work together they will formulate a treatment plan with some clear goals. Appointment times and fee schedules will also be organized. There may be some paperwork to sign and read over such as informed consent forms or confidentiality agreements.
If your issue would be better served by another therapist you will be referred to an alternative.
